Peshmerga forces. File photo.
(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – The General Command of Armed Forces in Kurdistan Region announced on Monday, that the Peshmerga forces started Mosul offensive from Khazer axis, and emphasized that more than 4000 members of Peshmerga are participating in the offensive.
The Command said in a statement, “The Peshmerga started its attacks at 6 am on Monday from Khazer axis, east of Mosul, to liberate the villages of the areas within the battle to liberate Mosul.”
“More than 4000 Peshmerga fighters are participating in the offensive from three axes. The attack is taking place in coordination with the Kurdistan Region govement and the Iraqi federal govement,” the statement added.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced launching the battle to liberate Mosul from the ISIS grip, and pointed out that the security forces that will participate in the battle are Iraqi army, police and national police.

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Iraqi media outlets reported on Monday, that the Islamic State converted the mosques of Mosul into military barracks and prevented prayers inside them.
Al Sumaria News stated, “The ISIS gangs prevented prayer in a number of Mosul mosques, in order to convert them into caches of weapons and military barracks for its members to protect them against the air strikes of the inteational coalition and Iraqi Air Force.”
“The ISIS gangs are using mosques as headquarters for their criminal operations in order to use the attacks of security forces on the mosques as a media event,” Al Sumaria added.
The Islamic State in Mosul is started to collapse after large numbers of its members escaped due to the start of the battle to liberate the city.

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – The Kurdish Peshmerga forces approached the areas of Bartella and al-Hamdaniyah in easte the city of Mosul, Al Sumaria reported on Monday.
The Iraqi media outlet stated, “The Peshmerga forces are now approaching the areas of Bartella and al-Hamdaniyah in easte the city of Mosul to liberate them from the ISIS terrorist gangs.”
“The Peshmerga forces are continuing their advance amid heavy bombing and shelling on the strongholds of the ISIS in the previously mentioned areas,” Al Sumaria added.
Earlier today, General Command of Armed Forces in Kurdistan Region revealed, that more than 4000 Peshmerga fighters are participating in the battle to liberate Mosul, and announced that the Kurdish forces started their attack from Khazer axis, east of the city.

Three members of al-Hashd al-Shaabi were killed, wounded in a bomb blast near Baqubah.
(IraqiNews.com) Diyala – Diyala Member of Parliament Karim al-Jabouri revealed on Sunday, that a Shia soldier of al-Hashd al-Shaabi was killed while two others were wounded in sequential bomb blasts, northeast of Baqubah.
Jabouri said in a statement, “A Shai solider was killed and two others were wounded in the explosion of two bombs that exploded sequentially targeting security detachment while searching the gardens of Sensil villages.”
“The gardens of the liberated areas are witnessing violent terrorist acts targeting al-Hashd al-Ashaeri, army patrols and al-Hashd al-Shaabi members,” Jabouri explained. “Extensive military operations are needed to eliminate the presence of any terrorist cells in these areas,” he added.

(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – Iraqi media outlets reported on Sunday, that nine civilians were either killed or wounded in the explosion of an improvised explosive device, northwest of Kirkuk.
Al Sumaria News stated, “An improvised explosive device exploded, today, targeting families while fleeing from the areas controlled by ISIS on Debika road, in Dibs district, northwest of Kirkuk, killing four civilians and wounding five others.”
“Improvised explosive devices are targeting the civilians who are fleeying on daily basis from the areas controlled by ISIS,” Al Sumaria added.

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Russian Ambassador to Iraq Morgnov Ilya Anatolyevich renewed on Sunday his country’s support for Iraq in its war against terrorism, Al Sumaria News reported.
The presidency of Iraq said in a press statement, “Today, President Fuad Masum received the Russian Ambassador to Iraq Morgnov Ilya Anatolyevich,” adding that, “They discussed the bilateral relations between Iraq and Russia, and the importance of joint cooperation to serve the interests of the two countries.”
Meanwhile, Anatolyevich emphasized the importance of enhancing fields of cooperation between the two countries, and renewed his country’s support to Iraq in its war against ISIS.

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday that Iraq could not handle the Mosul offensive alone, and pointed out that the presence of Turkish forces in a nearby military camp is an insurance against attacks on Turkey.
Erdogan said in a speech at a ceremony in the Black Sea town of Rize, “We won’t leave Mosul for the Islamic State or any other terrorist organization, and Iraqi govement won’t be able alone to handle Mosul offensive,” adding that, “The presence of Turkish forces in a nearby military camp of Bashiqa is an insurance against attacks on Turkey.”
Earlier this month, US-led coalition said any foreign forces in Iraq should have the approval of the govement of Baghdad. However, Erdogan said that Turkey will rely on an alteative plan if the US-led coalition refused the Turkish participation in Mosul offensive.

Inteational coalition aviation is conducting airstrikes against ISIS in Syria and Iraq.
(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Iraqi media outlets reported on Saturday that 12 members of the Islamic State were either killed or wounded in an air strike carried out by the inteational coalition air force in southe Nineveh.
Al Sumaria News stated, “Today, inteational coalition air force bombarded headquarters of ISIS in one of the villages in Qayyarah vicinity, killing five ISIS members and wounding seven others.”
“The killed ISIS members include the official of booby-trapped planes brigade,” Al Sumaria added.
“The air strike destroyed tactical units that were used by the ISIS to attack the headquarters of Iraqi army and joint security forces in Qayyarah,” Al Sumaria explained.
For more than two years, US-led inteational coalition is conducting air strikes targeting the headquarters and hideouts of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi discussed on Saturday the liberation plans of Hawija and Mosul with a number of al-Hashd al-Shaabi’s leaders.
Abadi’s office said in a statement, “Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi held a meeting, today, with a number of al-Hashd al-Shaabi’s leaders to discuss the liberation plans of Hawija and Mosul.”
“They also discussed the enhancement of the security forces abilities and preparations of appropriate alteatives to meet any development in the battlefield,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, the factions of al-Hashd al-Shaabi thanked Abadi for considering them part of the state’s institutions and defensing them against any possible threats.

(IraqiNews) Nineveh – Reuters news agency revealed on Friday that the terrorist group ISIS thwarted a rebellion lead by a deputy to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi to help Iraqi forces retake the Iraqi city of Mosul which ISIS considers to be the capital of its so-called caliphate.
Civilians and security officials said that the terrorist group executed 58 people suspected of involvement in the conspiracy that was discovered last week, the news agency reported.
Citizens present in the city, in phone calls with Reuter’s reporters, explained that the plotters who were caught by ISIS were buried in a mass grave in the outskirts of Mosul after they were drowned to death.
According to information gathered from several sources, Reuters indicated that a local assistant of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi led the rebellion, but the agency did not mention the plot leader’s name in order to maintain the safety of his family.
